Materials

18k Gold Filled Jewelry

Our gold filled pieces are crafted by bonding a thick layer of solid gold to a durable core using a pressure-bonding process that creates jewelry designed for long-term wear and lasting beauty.

  • Gold filled

  • Nickel-free, hypoallergenic, and thoughtfully finished

Selected for its strength, richness of color, and enduring quality.

Gold filled jewelry contains a significantly higher percentage of solid gold than traditional plated pieces, resulting in a finish that is more durable, longer-lasting, and better suited for everyday wear.

This construction creates a surface that resists fading and wear far more effectively than standard plating, offering the look and feel of fine jewelry without the maintenance and high price tag demanded of solid gold.

18k Gold Plated Jewelry

Our gold plated pieces are crafted by bonding a thick layer of gold onto a high-quality brass base using advanced plating techniques designed for durability and longevity. This method creates a richer, more resilient finish than standard costume jewelry plating.

  • Gold plated over premium brass

  • Nickel-free, hypoallergenic, and thoughtfully finished

Chosen for its depth of color, strength, and elevated feel.

Each piece receives a thicker, more substantial gold layer than traditional plating, resulting in a finish that is smoother, harder, and designed to withstand regular wear. This process is adapted from industrial plating methods and helps create jewelry that maintains its beauty longer than typical plated pieces.

While these pieces are not solid gold, they are intentionally crafted to offer a high-quality alternative with the look and feel of fine jewelry at a more accessible price point. If you are looking for a more elevated pieces, we reccomand choosing some of our gold filled jewelry.

Care Instructions

Ford & Fox Jewelry is made to be worn and enjoyed regularly, though mindful care will help preserve its finish for many years to come.

To care for your piece:

  • Remove before swimming, showering, or exercising.

  • Avoid prolonged contact with lotions, perfumes, and harsh chemicals

  • Store in a dry place when not in use

  • Clean gently with warm water and a soft cloth

With proper care, gold filled pieces are designed to maintain their beauty for many years. Exposure to moisture and chemicals can dull the surface or gradually wear the finish over time on plated pieces.

Good to Know

Because jewelry is worn close to the skin, longevity can vary based on individual skin chemistry (pH balance), environment, and frequency of wear. If you have a known sensitivity to brass, we recommend choosing our gold filled or solid metal options instead.

With proper care, these pieces are designed to offer lasting beauty, durability, and everyday elegance.

Material details are always listed on each product page so you can shop with confidence.
